more fully ourselves.
Meet the Author

Hi, I'm Kizzy Petit.
Author of literary memoir, essays, and children's books.
I write about motherhood, belonging, emotional inheritance, and the deep transformations that shape our lives.
Born in Venezuela and now living in England, I write from the space between cultures, generations, and identities. Before dedicating myself to writing, I worked as a journalist, university lecturer, and researcher. Today, my work is shaped as much by lived experience as by observation, curiosity, and a belief that ordinary lives deserve to be told with honesty and care.
Whether I'm writing for children or adults, I'm drawn to the relationships that shape us, the stories we inherit, and the courage it takes to begin again.
That is the thread running through everything I write. If you've found your way here through one of my picture books, an essay, or simply by chance, I hope you leave with the feeling that every life holds a story worth listening to.
I believe stories help us understand ourselves, each other, and the people we are still becoming.
My Mission
My mission is to write stories that help people feel seen, understood, and a little less alone. Through children's books, essays, and literary memoir, I explore motherhood, belonging, emotional inheritance, and the deep transformations that shape our lives, inviting readers to slow down, reflect, and discover the courage to become more fully themselves.
